Shirley Ann (Schueller) Novak stepped out of the confines of her mortal body early on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. In answer to her prayers, Jesus took her hand and led her home where she joined her beloved husband, Gerald, her son, John, her parents, Victoria (Szechnicki) and Sylvester, and brother, James.
Shirley, most recently of Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg, Indiana, was born April 19,1936, in Lorain, Ohio. A 1954 graduate of Lorain High School, she was active as a school aide, and participated on the staff of the bi-weekly paper Hi-Standard. She
married on June 25, 1960.
Shirley was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Scottsburg, Indiana and was previously active in the Catholic communities of St. Jude's in Chattanooga,TN and Corpus Christi in Chambersburg, PA. She was also a past member of the
Colombian Ladies and the Red Hat Society.
An avid reader, Shirley also enjoyed bird watching, ceramics, and baking. Her outgoing personality made her a natural fit for employment in retail sales. It also shined through in the ways she cared for others in her personal life. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Deal; and two grandchildren, Ashley Novak and Dillon Novak.
