Shirley was a proud graduate of Scottsburg High School, class of 1955, and later attended Sullivan Business College. She dedicated her life to serving others, with a diverse career that included working at Bennett's Print Shop, as a Medical Assistant for the Veterans Administration, and at the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (Powder Plant). Her love of dance found expression in square dancing, and she cherished time spent on her pontoon boat at Hardy Lake. Every Friday night, she could be found at Finley Firehouse, eagerly engaging in card games with friends and family.
Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Richie of Jeffersonville, and her devoted son, Mark Sharp of Lexington, her cousin, Patty Lykins of Jeffersonville, her grandchildren, Wesley Allen Richie and his wife, Karen of Charlestown, Robert Sharp and Ariel Smith, and great-grandchildren, Eli and Lily Richie of Charlestown, all of whom will carry her joyful spirit forward in their lives.
