Stanley "Stan" Michael Allen, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, Stan spent his life dedicated to both work and family. He was born on January 10, 1951, in Seymour, Indiana, to Ellis Allen and Kathryn (Ault) Allen. Stanley graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in 1969. After high school Stan went to work for the old Scott County Stone, where he worked for over thirty-five years. Even after retiring in 2004, his spirit of service never wavered. Stan continued to work with the Scott County Highway Department and later for the City of Scottsburg, embodying the philosophy that retirement was simply a new chapter of continued contribution. Stan married his wife, Kim Kriner, of forty-nine years on April 24, 1976, at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Lexington Indiana, and she survives. Stan had a zest for life that was reflected in his many passions. He was an avid fan of IU basketball and could often be found sporting the cream and crimson in his attire. His love for fishing brought him peace, while bowling offered him camaraderie. The beauty of antique cars and street rods captured his imagination and became a lifelong hobby. However, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love. He was preceded in death by his parents. Stan will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his generous spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by two daughters, Karma Ashley (Billy) Kristufek and Michelle "Shellie" (Donny) Payton; son, Michael (Natalie) Allen; brother, Neil (Kathy) Allen; eleven grandchildren, Peyton, Nolan, Cameron, Ruby, Ellis, Koryn, Karmen, Kamilla, Zach, Josh, and Taylor; and eight great grandchildren.
