Stanley Zearing, 69, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on August 6, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on June 26, 1955 to the late Herbert Zearing and Shirley Ann (Phillips) Zearing. Throughout his life, Stanley worked diligently as the first person in the United Stated to master a laser etcher during his 28 years at Fewell Monument Company in Scottsburg, Indiana. Outside of work, Stanley and his beloved wife, Sharron, found joy in teaching skiing at Paoli Peaks for 31 years as well as many ski trips out west with lots of traveling with friends. In 2020, he and his wife, Sharron, bought a home in Sebring, Florida, where they intended to spend their winters, enjoying rounds of golf in the sunshine. Stanley and Sharron cherished their annual trips together with friends, traveling to Florida in the fall for golfing and skiing out west in the winter during February and March. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Justin Zearing. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sharron (Ridlen) Zearing; two daughters, Belinda (Ronnie)Houchens and Traci (Sandy)Hawkins; three grandchildren, Tisha Houchens, Ashley (Derek)Saunders and Kayli (Chris)McQady; seven great grandchildren; aunt Evelyn Schultz; and three cousins, Teresa Richards, Robin Cartwright, and Angie Young. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with a service at 12:00 noon.  Cremation services have been entrusted to the caring staff at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
