Steve "Fly" Kimberlin, 69, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1953 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Everitt Hardy and Margaret (Bruce) Kimberlin. Steve graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1971 and earned his certification from the Nashville Auto/Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee. On October 26, 1975 he married Maurica L. (Berna) Kimberlin, who survives. He retired in 2009 from Indiana Department of Transportation where he worked for 30 years. After retirement, Steve worked for a short time for Indiana/Kentucky Trucking Company in Milton, Kentucky. He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church in Underwood, Indiana. Steve enjoyed working on cars, building and rebuilding motors for himself and friends. Steve owned two 1966 Oldmobile 442's and there were only approximately 500 made. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jason Everitt Kimberlin. Survivors include his wife, Maurica L. (Berna) Kimberlin; son, Chris Kimberlin of Scottsburg, Indiana; brother, Danny Kimberlin of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Janet McMaster of Greenville, Indiana and Jennifer (Mike) Ponder of Otisco, Indiana; six grandchildren, Caleb, Jordan, Lauren, Misti, Christian and Heaven Kimberlin. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022 and Noon to 1:00 pm Tuesday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at New Bethel Cemetery near Chelsea, Indiana.
