Steve Burns, Jr., 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Scott Memorial Hospital Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on May 18, 1933, in Saul, Kentucky, the son of the late Steve Burns Sr. and Merschel (Gross) Burns. Steve graduated from Scottsburg High School then joined the work force. He then joined the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. After returning home, Steve married Mickey A. (Self) Burns on May 28, 1961, who passed away December 2, 2019. Steve was a member of the Zoah Christian Church and participated in the gospel quartet. He was a retired employee of the old American Can Company in Austin, Indiana after thirty- eight years. Steve was very active though out the years in the Austin Masonic Lodge #120, joining in 1959. In addition to his parents and wife, Steve is preceded in death by his four sisters, Jean, Maggie, Doris, and Kay: and three brothers, Donnie, Ronnie, and Doug. Survivors include two sons, Russell Allen Burns and Gary Burns both of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Linda Sue (Gary) Hays of Marysville, Indiana and Carol (Bert) Molina of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren, Steven, Brad, and Derek Burns, Tiffany Martyn, Michael Rice and Kimberly Stevenson (Bryan); and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Matt Craig officiating. Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022, and after 11:00 am Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Masonic Memorial services will be Tuesday during the visitation at 7:30 pm.
