Steven "Steve" Randall Parks, 63, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away at 8:19 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on April 9, 1961, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Doris Jean Bridgewater Parks Burkett and Samuel E. Parks Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank O. & Loreane (Carter) Bridgewater and Andrew & Marie (Yount) Parks; his stepfather, James "Jim" Burkett; and several beloved aunts and uncles including Edwin "Ed" Bridgewater. Steve was a proud member of ABATE of Indiana, serving as both the Region 9 Treasurer and Scott County Treasurer. A graduate of Scottsburg High School, Class of 1979, he was a lifelong Harley-Davidson enthusiast who found joy in motorcycles, playing cards, and tinkering with cars. He is survived by his former wife, Connie Watts Parks Pruett of Lexington, IN; his two children, Cara (Joe) Turner of Chicago, IL, and Mike (Jen) Parks of Memphis, IN; and his cherished granddaughter, Wren Turner of Chicago, IL. Steve is also survived by his three siblings, Paulette Meeks of Scottsburg, IN; Pamela (Tom) Goldsmith of Scottsburg, IN; and Samuel Jr. (Myrna) Parks of The Philippines. He leaves behind two aunts, Marjorie Arbuckle of Scottsburg, IN and Rose Marie Atkins of Cape Coral, FL and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will take place 12:00 noon to 2:00pm prior to the service at Collins Funeral Home, in Scottsburg, Indiana. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home. Steve will be laid to rest in his family plot at Scottsburg Cemetery, alongside his beloved mother, Doris Bridgewater Parks Burkett.
