Steven Dale Shireman, 65, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on May 31, 1958 in Lincoln City, Kansas, the son of the late Dale E. Shireman and Patricia (Weathers) Shireman, who survives. Steve graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1976. He was an avid Indiana University and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Steve enjoyed shooting pool at the Eastern Lane Bowling Alley and golfing at the Cherry Street golf course in New Albany, Indiana. He enjoyed watching WWE Smackdown and WrestleMania. Steve enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, he will be greatly missed. He was an employee of Wash-O-Rama Car Wash in Clarksville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Gwen Peacock and Kathy Sveum; and one granddaughter, Angel Nicole Carroll. Survivors include his mother, Patricia Shireman of Austin, Indiana; daughter, Danielle Carroll of Clarksville, Indiana; two sons, Steven Shireman II and Michael Shireman both of New Albany, Indiana; two brothers, Martin (Sherry) Shireman of Seymour, Indiana and Richard "Rick" Shireman of Scottsburg, Indiana; aunt: Nyla Sue Moore; two uncles, Billie Shireman and Warren W. Weathers; brother-in-law Scott Sveum of Dixon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Lil Michael, Trevor, Allie, Kayleigh,and Shania; and two great grandchildren, Evelynn Rose Carroll and Ezrah Jane Crowder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 2:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Marc Carr officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 and 12:00 noon until time of services Saturday at Collins Funeral Home.
