Susie Bixler, 80, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on January 4, 1941 in Clemons, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Taylor Porter and Mona (Spencer) Reardon. Susie graduated from Henryville High School in 1960 and later earned an Associate's Degree from Ivy Tech. She retired in 2004 as a clerk for the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where she worked for 44 years. Susie attended the Underwood Baptist Church and the Vienna Baptist Church, was a member of the Scott County O.E.S. Chapter # 107 and the Moose Family Center # 2324 in Scottsburg, Indiana. She enjoyed playing cards at the Scottsburg Senior Citizens Center, riding bikes, walking, bowling and working puzzles. In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Huber. Survivors include two sons, Kelly (Christy) Bixler of Scottsburg, Indiana and Keith (Tracey) Bixler of Lexington, Indiana; a brother, Charles Reardon; four grandchildren, Susann, Joshua, James and Keith E. Bixler; five great grandchildren, Case, Raelynn and Boone Howard and Blair and Jason Bixler and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home with Chaplain T.C. Baker officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed by the public on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. Visitation: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed and will be limited to 50 people in the building. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate. Interment will be in Estil Cemetery near Scottsburg, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be given to the Scottsburg Senior Citizens Center c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
