Sylvia P. Kiefer, 72, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky in the care of Hospice. She was born on January 23, 1951 in Austin, Indiana, the daughter of the late James Belcher and Viola (Collins) Belcher. On December 9, 1967 she married Michael Kiefer, who survives. She was a former employee of the old Holm Industries, Inc. in Scottsburg, Indiana for eighteen years. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ray Belcher. In addition to her husband, Michael, Sylvia's survivors include her son, Brian Kiefer of Scottsburg, Indiana; brother, Carl Belcher of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Stacy of Paris Crossing, Indiana and Madeline Campbell of North Vernon, Indiana; and one grandson, Kyle Kiefer. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home with interment at a later day in Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
