Trina Jerene Vernon, 66, of Scottsburg, passed away at her home. She was on born March 20, 1959 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to Robert Stewart and Annetta Lois Elswick. She came to Indiana in her youth and graduated high school in Madison and received her Bachelor's degree in English from Hanover College. She married David Vernon on April 28, 1996 and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2023. She worked at Multicolor for 17 years as a Rewinder. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed life. She enjoyed playing guitar and singing, scrapbooking and reading but her greatest love was being a mamaw.

Trina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Steven Vernon. Surviving to cherish her memories are her children, Robert (Karen) Vernon of Cleves, Ohio and Amber Howard of Milltown, Indiana; her sister, Twila Nichell; her brothers, Roderick (Karen) Elswick and James (Angela) Elswick; her grandchildren, Dominic Vernon, Mackenzi Vernon, Jasper Vernon, Emily Vernon, Steven Vernon, Joshua Howard, Carlee Howard, Jayce Howard, Isaiah Howard and Sebastian Howard; and her best friend and companion, Max. Friends may visit with Trina's family from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg.
