Viola Lee Austin, 100, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Scott Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 21, 1920 in LaGrange, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Harry Fellows and Rosa W. (Lichti) Fellows. Viola was married on May 15, 1986 to Robert W. "Bob" Austin, who passed away on August 27, 2015. She was a retired employee of the old Panasote in Seymour, Indiana and also had worked at the old Charlestown Powder Plant and the old Jacobson Shirt Factory. Viola was a member of Austin Christian Church. She was always up for an adventure and even later in life enjoyed going to amusement parks and riding the roller coasters. She loved her family and always looked forward to their family picnics and spending time with them. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two stepsons, Edward Lee and Bill Austin; a sister, Anita Richey; a brother, Ray E. Fellows and a great great granddaughter, Zailey Polley. Survivors include three daughters, Dolores Lowry (Terry) and Glenna L. Cravens all of Scottsburg, Indiana and Julia A. Barger of Austin, Indiana; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Huey officiating. Funeral services may also be viewed on Collins Funeral Home's Facebook page at 2:00 pm on Thursday. Visitation: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home. Visitation and services will be open to the public as long as social distancing guidelines can be observed. Please follow the CDC's recommendations and guidelines while attending the services and face masks will be required due to the governor's executive mandate.
