Willard "Will" Barger, 74, of Underwood, Indiana, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Seymour, Indiana, with his loving family by his side.
Will was born on December 26, 1951, in Leatherwood, Kentucky, to Sterling and Mae Barger. He carried with him the strong values of hard work and family throughout his life.
Will retired from Jeff Boat Shipyard in Jeffersonville, Indiana, after 43 years of dedicated service. He was known as a dependable and hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. In addition to his career, Will proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, honoring his commitment to service with quiet strength and patriotism.
Above all else, Will treasured time spent with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he could often be found relaxing while watching The Andy Griffith Show, one of his favorites. He also had a special place in his heart for his eight "grand dogs," whom he loved dearly.
Will will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to those he loved, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. In addition to his parents Will was preceded in death by his siblings, Austin , Floyd "Shorty" , Winston Sr., Luckie Barger, Elvie Rice, Cinderella Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Barger; daughter, Kelley Barger; son, Cory Barger(Charles); siblings, Eva Scott, Minnie Pearl Sutton, Felda Henry, Annie Sanders, Taylor Barger(Donna); along with eight grand dogs.There will be a visitation held on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 10-1p.m. with service to follow at 1pm at Collins Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Providence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Scott County Indiana, 1176 N. Gardner St. Scottsburg, Indiana 47170.
