William V. "Bill" Deal, 88 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his residence. He was born on November 10, 1934 in Austin, Indiana, to the late Walter Deal and Eliazbeth (Riley) Deal. He was retired from Cummins Engine Company, was a member of Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Scottsburg Moose Lodge #2324. Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing, was a die-hard Indiana University basketball fan, and was always building something. On May 20,1978 he married Marilyn Sue (Brough) Deal, who preceded him in death in 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepson Mike Stewart, and sister Betty Hayes. Survivors include: his son Wesley Deal of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters Beverley Ramey of Peru, Indiana; Melody Neal of Scottsburg, Indiana; two stepdaughters Cindy Scott of Salem, Indiana; Vickie Curtsinger of Charlestown, Indiana; one brother Bobby (Barbara) Deal; fourteen grandchildren; Wes (Erin) Deal, Paige (Chris) Barham, Kelsey (Richard) Easterlin, Kameron (Jillian) day, Kerrigan Neal, Johnna (Zach) Landwehr, Madison (Mayson) Harp, Kenny (Bree) Scott, Kaden Scott, Chassity Curtsinger (Mike), Wakey Jr. Curtsinger, Gerald (Cisley) Curtsinger, nine great grandchildren; Eleanor Easterlin, Caroline Easterlin, Ciaran Deal, Cillian Deal, Keagon Scott, Kash Scott, Kimber Scott, Andrew Staniford, Samantha Lanham, Mayci Bammerlin, and Atlas Landwehr, and four great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday September 21, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. Timothy Mohon officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm at Collins Funeral Home. Interment at Kimberlin Creek Cemetery, IN. Family requests memorial donations to We Care.
