Wilma Jane Kendall

Wilma Jane Kendall, age 86, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Norton Clark Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 19, 1940, in Scottsburg, Indiana, Wilma was the daughter of Melvin and Grace Rode. She dedicated 41 years of faithful service to Jay C Food Store, where she was known for her strong work ethic and kind spirit.

Wilma was a woman of Christian faith who cherished her family above all else. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially helping on the farm, caring for her animals, and feeding her chickens. A devoted homemaker, she took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. She also had a true gift for gardening, with a green thumb that brought beauty and life to everything she tended.

Wilma will be remembered for her gentle heart, hardworking nature, and the love she shared with those around her.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, David Kendall; brother, Charles Rode. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Lueders; sons, Rob Kendall, Delbert “Bert” Kendall(Lou Moore); sister, Joyce Scroggins(Ray); brother, Marvin Rode(Laurel); grandchildren, Kevin, Hannah, Zachary; great grandchildren, Konner, Klay, Leo.
